GymMayday Privacy Policy

GymMayday ("the App") is developed by Eric Tsai ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices. GymMayday does not require account creation or login.

Information We Collect and How It's Used

• Photos you capture or select — When you use the camera or text search to identify gym equipment, the photo or text query is sent to our backend server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API solely to generate the equipment guide. Photos are not stored on our server after the request completes.
• Text search queries — Sent to our backend and Anthropic's Claude API for the same purpose as above.
• IP address — Our backend temporarily records your IP address (keyed with the date) to enforce a daily usage limit and prevent abuse. This record automatically expires within about 26 hours and is not linked to any other personal information.
• Location (When-In-Use) — If you use the "Nearby Gyms" feature, the App uses Apple's Core Location and MapKit frameworks to find gyms near you. Your location is processed on-device and by Apple's Maps service; it is never sent to our own backend server.
• Profile and preferences you enter — Nickname, gender, age, fitness goal, coach name/appearance, app theme, and language preference are stored only in your device's local storage (UserDefaults), and optionally backed up to your personal iCloud account so they survive a reinstall. This data is never sent to our own backend server.
• Search history and badges — Your equipment lookup history and achievement badge progress are stored locally on your device, and optionally backed up to your personal iCloud account so they survive a reinstall. You can clear your history anytime from the History tab, or remove them entirely by deleting the App.

Advertising

After 3 free equipment searches, GymMayday asks you to watch a short rewarded ad (powered by Google AdMob) to continue searching. This is optional — you only see an ad if you choose to watch one to unlock further searches.

• To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), general device information, and app usage data related to ads.
• The first time you open the App, iOS will ask whether GymMayday may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites (App Tracking Transparency). If you allow tracking, you may see more personalized ads. If you decline, GymMayday only shows non-personalized ads — every other feature of the App works exactly the same either way.
• See Google's Ads Privacy & Terms and how Google uses information from apps that use its services for details on how Google handles this data.

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude API) — Processes the photo/text you submit to generate the equipment guide. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Apple (Core Location / MapKit) — Used for the Nearby Gyms feature, governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
• Apple (iCloud Key-Value Storage) — Used to back up your profile, history, and badge data to your personal iCloud account so it survives a reinstall, governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
• Cloudflare (Workers / KV) — Hosts our backend server and temporary rate-limit records.
• Google AdMob — Serves the rewarded ads described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data We Do Not Collect

GymMayday does not require an account, does not collect your name/email through the App itself, does not use any analytics SDK, and does not sell your personal information. (See "Advertising" above for the one third-party SDK the App does use, and why.)

Your Choices

You can deny camera or location permission at any time in iOS Settings; the App will simply be unable to offer the corresponding feature (photo search, or nearby gyms). You can also change your App Tracking Transparency choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, which controls whether ads shown in the App are personalized. You can clear your local search history from the History tab, or remove all locally stored data by deleting the App.

Children's Privacy

GymMayday is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

GymMayday（以下稱「本 App」）由 Eric Tsai（以下稱「我們」）開發。本政策說明本 App 會蒐集哪些資訊、如何使用，以及你有哪些選擇。GymMayday 不需要註冊帳號或登入即可使用。

我們蒐集的資訊與使用方式

• 你拍攝或選取的照片 — 當你使用拍照或文字搜尋辨識健身器材時，照片或文字查詢內容會傳送至我們的後端伺服器，再轉送給 Anthropic 的 Claude API，僅用於產生器材使用說明。照片在請求處理完成後不會保存在我們的伺服器上。
• 文字搜尋內容 — 基於與上述相同的目的，傳送至我們的後端與 Anthropic 的 Claude API。
• IP 位址 — 我們的後端會暫時以「IP + 日期」為索引記錄你的 IP 位址，用來限制每日使用次數、防止濫用。此紀錄約 26 小時後會自動失效，且不會與任何其他個人資訊建立關聯。
• 定位資訊（使用期間） — 若你使用「附近健身房」功能，本 App 會透過 Apple 的 Core Location 與 MapKit 框架尋找附近的健身房。你的定位資訊是在裝置端與 Apple 地圖服務處理，不會傳送到我們自己的後端伺服器。
• 你輸入的個人化資料 — 暱稱、性別、年齡、健身目標、教練名字/外觀、App 主題與語言偏好，僅儲存在你裝置本機的儲存空間（UserDefaults），並會選擇性備份到你個人的 iCloud 帳號，以便重新安裝後還能復原。這些資料不會傳送到我們自己的後端伺服器。
• 查詢紀錄與徽章 — 你的器材查詢紀錄與成就徽章進度僅儲存在裝置本機，並會選擇性備份到你個人的 iCloud 帳號，以便重新安裝後還能復原。你可以隨時在「記錄」頁籤清除查詢紀錄，或直接刪除本 App 以完全移除。

廣告

每位使用者有 3 次免費器材查詢額度，超過後 GymMayday 會請你觀看一段簡短的獎勵廣告（由 Google AdMob 提供）才能繼續查詢。這是選擇性的——只有在你選擇觀看廣告以換取查詢次數時，才會顯示廣告。

• 為了投放與衡量廣告成效，Google AdMob 可能會蒐集你裝置的廣告識別碼（IDFA）、一般裝置資訊，以及與廣告相關的 App 使用資料。
• 你第一次開啟本 App 時，iOS 會詢問是否允許 GymMayday 追蹤你在其他公司 App 與網站上的活動（App 追蹤透明度）。若你允許追蹤，可能會看到較個人化的廣告；若你拒絕，GymMayday 僅會顯示非個人化廣告——不論你的選擇為何，App 其他所有功能都完全相同、不受影響。

第三方服務

• Anthropic（Claude API） — 處理你提交的照片/文字以產生器材使用說明。詳見 Anthropic 隱私權政策。
• Apple（Core Location / MapKit） — 用於附近健身房功能，受 Apple 自身的隱私權規範管理。
• Apple（iCloud 鍵值儲存） — 用於將你的個人化資料、查詢紀錄與徽章備份到你個人的 iCloud 帳號，以便重新安裝後復原，受 Apple 自身的隱私權規範管理。
• Cloudflare（Workers / KV） — 用於架設我們的後端伺服器與暫存的使用次數限制紀錄。
• Google AdMob — 提供上述的獎勵廣告服務。詳見 Google 隱私權政策。

我們不會蒐集的資訊

GymMayday 不需要註冊帳號，本 App 本身不會蒐集你的姓名/電子郵件，未使用任何分析（analytics）SDK，我們也不會出售你的個人資訊。（本 App 唯一使用的第三方 SDK 是廣告用途，詳見上方「廣告」段落。）

你的選擇

你可以隨時在 iOS 設定中關閉相機或定位權限，本 App 屆時將無法提供對應功能（拍照搜尋，或附近健身房）。你也可以隨時在 iOS「設定」>「隱私權與安全性」>「追蹤」中變更你的 App 追蹤透明度選擇，這會決定 App 內顯示的廣告是否個人化。你可以在「記錄」頁籤清除本機查詢紀錄，或刪除本 App 以移除所有本機儲存的資料。

兒童隱私權

GymMayday 並非針對 13 歲以下兒童設計，我們不會在知情的情況下蒐集兒童的個人資訊。

政策異動

本政策可能隨 App 功能異動而更新。你在政策更新後繼續使用本 App，即表示同意更新後的內容。
